Almost Gunsmoke Revisited
by Dee Price
"Kathryn. Kathryn, wake up."
"What?" She raised her head and looked up into Matt Dillon's
face. "Matt! What are you doing on Voyager?"
"I don't rightly know anything about Voyager, Miss Janeway.
You are here in Dodge."
"I can't be. Where's Chakotay?"
"He's over in the Long Branch," said Matt pointing in that
direction. "Are you sure you're all right? Kind of unusual to sit on this bench
and fall asleep like that."
Kathryn looked around. Sure enough this was Dodge all right.
How on earth did they get back here, or did they just dream they had gotten
back to Voyager?
She stood with Matt's assistance. "Come on, I'll walk you
over," he said.
As they entered the Long Branch Kathryn saw Chakotay sitting
at a table talking to Miss Kitty. He stood as she walked over.
"Kathryn where did you go? You said you were going to our
room for only a minute."
"I found her asleep on the bench outside of Lathrop's
store," said Matt.
"Kathryn," said Chakotay looking real worried. "I think I
better take you back to our room. You look rather pale."
"Maybe that's best," she said. "If you will excuse us Miss
Kitty, Matt," and as Chakotay took her arm they walked out.
Outside, Kathryn whispered, "Chakotay, what's happening? I
thought we were back on Voyager!"
"Well obviously that isn't the fact, Kathryn. Maybe that was
just a dream."
After they entered their room, Kathryn felt faint. "Chakotay
I need your help to undress."
His eyes opened wide. "Excuse me?"
"Oh hush Chakotay. I have to get these clothes off. This
corset Miss Kitty put on me is choking me. I feel like I can't breathe. Help me
get this dress off."
Chakotay helped take the dress up over her head and then
stood staring.
"Chakotay put your eyes back in their sockets and help me
untie this thing!" said Kathryn as she started struggling with one tie.
"What is that thing?"
She looked up. Chakotay still stood there staring. "It's
called a corset and apparently all women wear them under their dresses. Now
help me, please."
Chakotay remained in his position, still not believing that
women wore such contraptions.
"Chakotay, now!" hissed a frustrated Kathryn as she tugged at
one tie.
Chakotay moved to her and started untying one of the ties
while Kathryn struggled with another one. "I swear Kitty must have tied a
knot," she said in exasperation.
Chakotay, struggling to get another tie undone started
chuckling.
"What's so funny mister?" asked Kathryn angrily. "I assure
you this isn't a laughing matter. I can't breathe. Now keep untying this
thing!"
Chakotay continued to chuckle as he untied one and then
another, but it eventually turned into just plain laughter. All the while
Kathryn was struggling to untie various ties and once they both tried to untie
the same tie.
"Will you stop laughing," she said even as she started to
giggle.
At last the last tie was undone and as Chakotay 'unhitched'
the garters from the stockings and pulled the corset away, Kathryn gave a huge
sigh of relief and started scratching herself all over.
Suddenly she looked up, realizing she was now standing there
in only her underpants. Chakotay stood quietly staring at her, mesmerized by
her breasts. Slowly he moved toward her, his eyes clearly showing desire.
"Chakotay. I don't think we should. It's the middle of the
day," she said quietly.
He didn't say a word, just slipped his arms around her and
pressed his lips to hers. Before long he picked her up and walked to the bed.
As they lay down the kisses became more and more passionate and soon the bed
itself was very, very vociferous.
Later . . . much later as a matter of fact . . . they
dressed, but Kathryn did not put on the corset this time, and they went
downstairs to dinner.
Ma Smalley looked up. "I was about to call you two. Dinner
is almost over and . . . " Then she saw their faces all flushed and glowing
and turned for the kitchen, hiding a 'I know what your did' look.
Following dinner they strolled about town. A jingling of
spurs behind them indicated Festus was near.
Turning to look back both smiled. "Evening Festus," said
Chakotay.
"Evenin Miss Janeway, Chakotay. You folks is out for an
evening stroll are ye?"
"Yes," said Kathryn, "But only for awhile. We are both
tired."
"Well I reckon you should be after all the excitement of
Chakotay's gunfight this morning. Too bad Mathew's horse came up lame and you
had to return to Dodge instead of going on to the next city. But we is glad to
have you here on any account. You goin in to the Long Branch are ya?"
"Not tonight Festus. Thanks anyway," said Chakotay, and
Festus nodded and moved on by and soon disappeared into the swinging doors of
the Long Branch.
Kathryn and Chakotay turned back for the Boarding House. "So
that's why we didn't make it out to the shuttle. Matt's horse got a lame leg,"
whispered Kathryn. "But I was sure we did. What's happening Chakotay?"
"Not sure myself, but to tell you the truth I don't mind
being here."
"You don't?"
"No, because here, you are Kathryn. On Voyager you are
Captain Janeway and I'm Commander Chakotay and besides that . . . "
She chuckled softly. "Yes things have rather changed haven't
they? In truth I can't say as I mind either. I must admit I have had strong
desires for you for seven years and with you sitting beside me it hasn't been
easy."
"Actually I was going to say 'and besides that we have a
squeaky bed'," he said with a smirk. "Kathryn, if we don't get back to Voyager,
would it be so bad?"
"Are you saying we shouldn't even try Chakotay?"
"I'm not saying that at all. I just . . . well I just
like being with you, even if it takes an hour to get that darn corset off," he
said with a soft laugh. "That takes so long all desire should run it's course
and it's a wonder anybody in this town has kids."
Kathryn looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"I don't know, it didn't seem to stop us this afternoon."
He bent his head down close to her and said, "No and it wont
stop us later either," and squeezed her arm. For some reason their pace
quickened and despite a beautiful night they quickly headed for their room.
As they lay on the bed Chakotay rained kisses on her and as
he fondled one breast he placed his lips over the other.
Kathryn moaned and felt his organ, full and hard on her
stomach and reaching down took hold of it. After stroking it for a minute she
placed it between her legs. "Now Chakotay, now. Inside . . . deep . . .
oh God," she moaned as he quickly obliged.
The next morning Chakotay awoke and turning his head saw
Kathryn laying there looking at him.
"Good morning," he said softly as he lifted his head and
kissed her.
"Good morning, Cowboy," she said with a loving smile as he
sat up, left the bed and walked toward the basin on the dresser.
She stared at his groin and sighed. That little instrument
--- well it was little at the moment --- was giving her so much pleasure that
she couldn't fathom why she had put him off for seven years.
She groaned as she sat up, causing Chakotay to hurry over to
her. "Kathryn, are you all right?"
"I'm fine, Chakotay," she said with a smile. "It's just that
we have made love three nights in a row and I'm a little sore. It's been
awhile."
"I'm sorry Kathryn. Did I hurt you?"
Placing her hand softly on his cheek she murmured, "No, you
have made me feel wonderful. Now I think we better get breakfast or Ma Smalley
will give us that look again."
Following breakfast they walked by the livery stable and
noted each stall had a horse. Wondering if they could possibly loan one they
walked to the Long Branch and saw Sam inside.
"Sam," said Kathryn as they entered. "Do you know where we
might find Matt? We have a question."
Sam smiled. "He will be here shortly Miss Janeway. "Just
have a seat at that table."
As they sat down they heard a 'Thump, thump, thump' coming
from the back room.
"Is Kitty all right?"
asked Kathryn.
"Oh she's fine maam," replied Sam.
Thump thump . . . thump thump came the sounds again.
Chakotay suddenly turned and looked at Sam and a knowing
look passed between the two men and Chakotay smiled.
Thump thump thump . . .
thump thump thump.
Kathryn again looked toward the back, but as Sam seemed
indifferent to the sound she turned and looked out the door.
Thump thump thump thump …thump and suddenly it was
quiet.
"Sam are you sure the Marshall will come in here?" asked
Kathryn again.
Sam smiled. "Yes maam. He should be here very soon."
A short time later Matt walked out from the back, saw
Kathryn and Chakotay and with a big smile and his booming voice said, "Good morning
you two!"
"Good morning Matt," said Chakotay trying to hide a smile.
"Kathryn and I were wondering if it is possible to loan a couple of horses.
Ours haven't shown up."
"Oh sure, I can arrange it for you.
Just then Kitty came walking from the back, making some last
minute adjustments to her hair. It was then Kathryn realized what the thumps
were all about and she flushed slightly.
"Good morning Kathryn, Chakotay. How are you folks this
morning?" she said with a big smile.
"Just fine, Kitty. And how are you this morning?" asked
Kathryn.
Kitty's eyes flicked momentarily to Matt as she said
"Couldn't be better."
Kathryn and Chakotay rose as Matt said he would take them
over to the stable. "See you later Kitty," and the three of them left.

"Kathryn . . . Kathryn, wake up."
"What? Where am I?" she asked as she raised her head from
the desk.
"What do you mean where am I?" asked Chakotay. "We are on
Voyager. You were dreaming." He then gave her a lascivious smile. "Must have
been good. You have moaned a lot."
She looked at the blinking screen in front of Chakotay and
remembered. "Oh yes. We were looking up Dodge City and didn't find a thing on
Matt Dillon. I guess I fell asleep while you continued to look.'
Chakotay frowned. "I'm afraid I did find something Kathryn.
I did a crosscheck on the name Matt Dillon. Take a look."
Kathryn leaned forward and started to read when she suddenly
gasped. "That isn't possible!"
"I know. It says he was a fictional Marshall of Dodge City."
"But we were there. We saw him. We talked to him! And Miss
Kitty helped me into a cor . . . " she stopped.
Chakotay was reading from the screen and didn't notice what
she had started to say. "It says there
was a Television show made called Gunsmoke and Dillon was the Marshall, Kitty
Russell ran the Long Branch Saloon, Doc Adams was the Doctor and that Dillon
had several sidekicks, the first being Chester, but the most memorable a man
called Festus!"
"We met all those people," exclaimed Kathryn. " Well all
except that Chester fellow. They certainly were not fictional. They were flesh
and blood!"
"Do you think the time loop caused us to hallucinate that?
Or maybe an alien played with our minds?" asked Chakotay.
Kathryn stared at Chakotay. "But they were real and we . . . "
"I know. We became a couple and made love . . . " he said
softly, his eyes full of love for her.
Kathryn stood and paced the room for several minutes. "It
just doesn't seem possible, Chakotay. Dodge was so real and the people . . . why
would an alien pick on that scenario. I never heard of a Matt Dillon before we
were in that town."
"It just seems the only plausible explanation, Kathryn." He
smiled. "Tell you what. Why don't we program a Dodge City in the holosuite and
then we can visit whenever we want."
Kathryn laughed. "An excellent idea Chakotay. We will start
on it tonight after dinner," and after Chakotay turned off the screen they
headed for the door.
"And Chakotay," started Kathryn.
He turned his head and looked at her as they neared the
doors.
"Don't forget the squeaky bed."
He laughed as they walked out into the corridor and headed
for the Bridge. "That's a must, Kathryn. That's a must."
