"Tell me again Chakotay," said a very disturbed and sweaty Captain Janeway, "Just how we got separated from the Away Team!"

"For the umpteenth time, Captain," said an irritated Commander Chakotay, "I have no idea! Why do you keep blaming me?"

"I'm not blaming you! Have you heard me say it's your fault?" said Janeway, her voice rising.

"Not in so many words, Captain, but your tone sure insinuates it is!"

"My tone? My tone? Commander my tone is coming from a very irritated Captain!"

"I would never have guessed," shot back an equally irritated Chakotay.

"You watch your tone Commander or when we get back to Voyager I'll slap you in the Brig for insubordination!" she fumed.

"At least that would be more quiet and pleasant," he mumbled under his breath.

"I heard that Commander!" Then Janeway stopped pushing through the thick, tangled underbrush and wiped her brow with her forearm. Taking a deep breath she said, "All right Chakotay, let's stop yapping at one another. It's neither of our faults I guess, but I fail to understand how it happened. One minute we were with the away team and the next we are here in this damnably humid jungle!"

"I don't understand it myself, Kathryn," said Chakotay as he swatted at some insects. "But obviously we are separated from the away team and our Com Badges don't work, so it's up to us to figure this out."

"Agreed," she said, and then gave a scream of terror as she jumped close to Chakotay, who instinctively wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"What is it?" he asked as he wildly looked around.

"Something was crawling on my pants leg!"

Chakotay leaned over and made an inspection of Kathryn's legs, then a quick glance around both their feet. "I don't see anything, but in this muck it could be most anything."

Janeway then made a shrugging motion with her shoulders and said, "You don't need to protect me Chakotay I'm fully capable of protecting myself."

"Sorry," he said as he removed his arm, "But I thought that was the First Officer's job, to protect his Captain. And if you are so capable," he added with a smirk, "Why did you jump back into me?"

Janeway turned and gave him one of her most 'Captainesque' glares that she could muster. "Don't get smart, Commander, or you will end up in the Brig when we get back." Chakotay just stood and smiled, which irritated her all the more.

Turning she looked ahead and shuddered. "Let's keep moving and see if we can find some dry land," and they immediately started forward again, but with eyes alert for movement of any kind.

After what Chakotay guessed was about two miles they came upon a slight rise of dry land. As they walked up on it, Kathryn, halfway between complaint and relief, said "At least we aren't fighting that underbrush anymore. I was sure I saw snakes at one point. This is a pretty dry area here let's rest a minute and try our badges again."

"Janeway to Voyager." With no response she looked at Chakotay who immediately tapped his badge.

"This is Chakotay calling Voyager. Can you hear us?"

"Well," Kathryn sighed, "Wherever we are and wherever Voyager is, it's obvious we can't make them hear us, but knowing Tuvok I'm sure he is working on finding us."

Chakotay just nodded his head as he looked in all directions at the horizon. "It's all jungle behind us, Kathryn, so I suggest we keep moving this way," and he raised his arm and pointed in a general direction.

Kathryn, who had sat on the grass to inspect her pant legs, now pulled off her boots and screamed again, making Chakotay whirl around.

"What!"

"Look at this!" she exclaimed. "Black ugly wriggling insects! You better check your boots too."

Chakotay found them in his boots as well and surmised they had rubbed off the underbrush to their clothing and crawled down into the boots. After they both cleaned the inside of their boots with sticks and hesitant fingers, they once again started walking.

Another hour went by with both of them now sweating profusely in the sticky humidity. Soon they found themselves trudging along in a marsh and shortly found a stream. Deciding to follow it, they were delighted when they discovered a boat.

Looking around and seeing no one, Kathryn said, "I wonder to whom it belongs?"

"I suspect it just drifted here Kathryn. It's well worn and there isn't anyone around," said Chakotay as he carefully inspected it. Deciding to use it, they both climbed in, but Chakotay couldn't find any oars.

"Stay put. I see a rope on the bow and I'll just get into the water and pull us along. It will certainly be faster than walking."

Chakotay then stepped into the water, almost tipping the boat over and dumping Kathryn, much to her consternation. Taking a good hold of the rope, he started to pull. The boat immediately moved.

"Oh yes this is much better Chakotay," said Kathryn with a smug grin. "And I imagine it's cooler for you too isn't it?"

"Somewhat," said Chakotay as he glanced back at Kathryn. "This is going to be . . ." and with a splash Chakotay disappeared in the water. As he surfaced sputtering, Kathryn was laughing quite loudly.

"That will teach you to watch where you are going," she said, unable to stop her giggling.

Chakotay continued to pull the boat as he struggled with his footing on the slick mud bottom, dunking himself twice more, much to his irritation and Kathryn's delight.

"I wonder where this stream leads Chakotay."

"I don't know, but if we keep following it we are bound to meet somebody, sometime . . . I hope."

Kathryn suddenly frowned. "What's that on your neck Chakotay?"

"What?" he asked as he again started to lose his balance when he looked back at her.

"On your neck! There is something black. . . . Oh Chakotay! Get out of the water and up on the bank. I think it's a leech!" she said as she scrambled out of the boat and onto the shore.

"No!" yelled Chakotay as he released the boat and struggled onto land. "Get it off, Kathryn. Get it off!" he yelled excitedly.

Kathryn quickly grabbed the leech and pulled it off, but then saw some at the edge of his trousers. "Take your pants off, Chakotay."

"What!"

"Take your pants off. I think there are some under your trousers."

Chakotay quickly pulled his pants off and Kathryn saw there were many leeches all over his legs.

"Take your shorts off, Chakotay"

"Kathryn I can't do that!" yelled Chakotay in embarrassment.

"No time to be shy, now take them off," she said as she continued to pull leeches off the back of his legs.

Chakotay, now fully aware he was covered with leeches, started shuddering at not only the thought of them, but seeing them on his arms. Quickly he pulled down his shorts and as Kathryn pulled the leeches off his legs he started picking them off his arms.

"Stand still Chakotay, you are jumping around like a flea on a hot tin roof!"

"I can't help it Kathryn. I can't stand those things!" He immediately yanked off his tee shirt and started pulling leeches from his chest.

"Uhm Chakotay, you have one in your . . . uhm in between your . . . Just hold still while I get it."

That said she quickly grabbed one cheek with her left hand and pulling to the side reached with the other hand and plucked the leech from between his two cheeks.

Chakotay, still shuddering in disgust, became aware they were also in his hair, and as he worked on finding and grabbing them was unaware of Kathryn, who now crawled around to the front and came face to face with Chakotay's penis.

Her eyes widened, not only at that sight but at seeing a leech on it! Reacting to the sight of the leech she reached out with her thumb and forefinger and tried to delicately pick it off, but Chakotay was moving around so much in his anxiety with the leeches, that his penis was bouncing around and she missed.

Determined to get the leech she yelled for Chakotay to stand still but he said, "I can't, these things are horrible."

That said she reached out with one hand and firmly grabbed his organ.

Chakotay stiffened, his eyes went wide, and he gasped, "Kathryn, what are you doing?"

"You have a leech on your . . . thing and I had to grab you to get it off."

"Why?" asked Chakotay, his eyes now glazing over.

"Because it was bobbing!"

"The leech?"

"No, you!"

"Did you get it off?" he asked in a croaking voice.

"Yes, it's off Chakotay," she said looking up at him.

"Then let go, Kathryn . . . please?"

"What?"

"You're still holding me!" moaned Chakotay.

Kathryn looked down. Sure enough she still had a firm, almost squeezing grip on Chakotay's penis, and not only could feel, but saw, that it was getting bigger and bigger!

Suddenly the voice of Tuvok pierced the air. "Tuvok to Janeway. We have now located you and the Commander and are immediately beaming you to the Bridge."

"Nooooooooooooooo," yelled Janeway.

An instant later Kathryn felt a shaking. "Kathryn! Kathryn!"

Kathryn bolted upright and looked wildly around. She was in bed in her quarters!

Chakotay, holding her shoulder with one hand asked, "Are you all right?"

She looked up at him and immediately felt severe heat rising in her face. "What happened?" she asked in a croaking voice.

"I heard you scream and came right in. You were having a bad dream I guess."

Kathryn started to bob her head and stopped as she remembered her dream.

"I'm all right now Chakotay. Go back to your quarters."

"Are you sure? I can sit with you for a bit if it will help."

"No . . . no, really I'm alright. Thank you," she said with a smile.

He nodded and turned to leave. "If you need me for anything . . ." he said with a smile,
"Just call," and left the room.

Kathryn flopped back on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. Presently she started to giggle and kept giggling until she was almost out of control, all the while wondering if she could possibly finish that dream to see what the Bridge crew's reaction would have been to that sight and just what her explanation would be!
